Winter Pear Tart Recipe
- Ingredients
- Puff pastry (store bought)
- 7 Pears
- 2 tsp Coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- Cream mix
- 1/3 cup Cream
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- For the egg wash
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp water
Method
Firstly, you want to make a quick egg wash. Egg wash helps to give the pastry a beautiful golden colour. You whisk your egg and add water and mix again. Then preheat your oven to 160 and roll out your puff pastry onto your tart baking dish. Use a brush to spread the egg wash evenly across the pastry before putting it in the oven to bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
Meanwhile cut up your pears into small pieces and put then into a pan on a medium heat with your coconut oil. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and mix to cover the pears. Let the pears cook through and start to turn golden but not too soggy.
In a bowl, whisk your second egg and combine with your cream and spices and set aside.
Once your pastry is cooked, pour in your pear mix and then layer your cream on top. Place back in the oven at 180 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy!!!! X
