An Easy and Fast 5min Morning Stretch Routine

Morning Ritual 1 : STRETCH

Stretching is one of my non negotiable morning rituals!

I need to stretch as soon as I roll out of bed or my body feels stiff all day.

Saying that, like everyone else I have moments where I slip out of my routine for a little while. So please don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

Start with once or twice a week and see how you get on before committing to a daily practice.

Stretching is incredible for you, especially when done first thing in the morning! It doesn’t need to last an hour. All you need is to wake your body up gently and get your spine moving. Mine never lasts longer than 7min. I know it’s very precise but we are creature of habits and I guess I always manage to do all I need under that time.

I often stretch right before I meditate. The whole process lasts from 8min (Yes all-inclusive!) to 25min, depending on how much time I have or how many times I’ve pressed the snooze button!

I’m not really a morning person, it’s always a bit of a struggle but my morning ritual( Lemon Hot water, stretch, meditate, then eat) makes it easier.

First of all, I feel like going on a mat is an extra special snooze and, it’s often the only calm moment I have for myself in the day.

Then meditation empties my noisy mind there and then and allows me to stay focused throughout the day.

Breakfast being my favourite meal of the day, I always make it extra special, creative and tasty. My current obsession Berries, Kiwi, Toasted Nuts and Homemade Chia Oat Milk. Inspired from the lovely Jenny Mustard.

Back to the stretching, here is the video for you. Go slow, do the best you can and like I said you just want to wake your body up gently and give it some love.
